China's Foreign Trade 39% Higher China's foreign trade expanded 39% in the first half of 2003 over the same period last year. According to statistics released by the Chinese customs, China's export reached $190.3 billion in the first six months this year, and import reached $185.2 billion. Trade between China and the United States totaled $56.4 billion, which is 34.4% higher than the same period in 2002 and makes the U.S. China's second largest trading partner.
