Three Gorges Designated “National Geological Park” The Three Gorges, the section of the Yangtze River that is one of China’s major tourist attractions, has been recently designated by the Chinese government a national geological park. The park includes the stretch of the Yangtze River from Fengjie upstream to Yichang downstream and comprises a total of 25,000 square kilometers (9,650 square miles).
