Continental and American to Fly China


Continental Airlines will begin nonstop service to Beijing from New York/Newark Liberty International Airport staring June 15, 2005. The daily flight leaves Liberty Airport at 12:00 p.m. and departs Beijing Capital Airport at 4:45 p.m.

American Airlines will begin its nonstop service from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Shanghai, China, on April 3, 2006. The AA flight will depart Chicago O'Hare daily at 9:00 a.m. and depart Shanghai Pudong Airport at 5:00 p.m.

With these new addtions, the number of U.S. airlines operating U.S.-China routes increases to four; Northwest Airlines and United Airlines have been in the China market for some time. Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines and North American Airlines also have plans to provide China services.
