Coach Tour from Nanning to Hanoi Launched
Travelers who want to cross border from China to enter Vietnam now have the option of taking a long distance bus to travel from Naning in China's Guangxi Pronvince to Hanoi, Vietnma. On September 29, Yunde Group, a company based in Nanning, launched a coach service that takes passengers from Nanning to Vietnam's national capital capital.
The coach ride covers the 380 kilometers (approximately 250 miles) between the two cities in about seven hours. A ticket for coach seat sells for 138 yuan. In comparison, a soft berth on a train costs about 350 yuan.
Currently the expressway that leads from Nanning to China's border with Vietnam is being upraded. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2005.
Sino-Vienamese relationship warmed up in recent years as the Vietnamese began to carry out their own free-market-oriented economic reform. China has become Vietnam's the biggest trade partner, and over four thousand Vietnanmese students are studying in China now. Back to China Notes and News
