More Lufthansa Flights to China
Starting October 30 Lufthansa will increase its flights to China to 43 every week to meet rising demand. In the German airline’s new Winter Timetable, two flights were added to the three weekly services between Munich and Hong Kong. The new timetable will be in effect till March 31, 2006.
The airline has been operating 41 flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Chinese cities Beijing, Shanghai, Gangzhou and Hong Kong. All of the flights are nonstop direct services.
The number of passengers on Lufthansa's China flights in the first five months of 2005 rose by 26% over the same period the previous year. It was in 1980 that Lufthansa first flew to China.
In a related development, Lufthansa recently relocated its China headquarters from Beijing to Shanghai. Its Beijing office will continue to be in charge of liaison with the Chinese government. Back to China Notes and News
