Shenzhen Airport Sees More International Passengers and Flights
As Shenzhen continues to boom as an economic powerhouse, the number of international travelers arriving at and leaving from its airport has been increasing rapidly. In the first months of 2005, over 340,000 international passengers used Shenzhen Airport, which is a growth by 125% over the number for the same period of the previous year.
The relatively new Shenzhen Airport has also witnessed continuous expansion of services to foreign destinations. Most recently the airport has been chosen as the departing point for two new international flights, to Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi respectively. Currently there are direct flights from Shenzhen to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, and Inchon. The airport also has indirect flights - by way of Shanghai - to London, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Paris. Back to China Notes and News
