Freeway Linking China and Vietnam to Be Opened
The high-grade expressway that links Nanning in southwestern China and Youyiguan on the Sino-Vietnamese border is in the final phase of construction and is expected to be opened for traffic soon.
The freeway will connect with the No. 1 highway in Vietnam, which will in turn bring China into closer contact with the broader Southeast Asian region – Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Province in China; popular tourist destinations such as Guilin and Yangshuo are located in this province, and Youyiguan - “Gate of Friendship” - is 180 kilometers southwest of Nanning. With the completion of Nanning-Youyiguan expressway, the travel time between the two cities will be reduced by half. Back to China Notes and News
