Hong Kong the Fourth Most Connected City in the World
In a recent study on broadband network availability in metropolitan areas, Hong Kong is named the world’s fourth “Most Connected” city. The selection, made by Daily Wireless, points to the low cost of broadband access in Hong Kong as well as extensive offerings of broadband TV programs and digital telephone services capable of video conferencing.
According to the ranking, a 10mbps residential network connection cost just $16 dollars a month in Hong Kong. Residents who are willing to pay $34 a month are served with a 100 mbps connection. This is among the least expensive service of its kind in the world.
Major East Asian cities lead the world in broadband connectivity. The top five of the Daily Wireless's 10 most connected cities are located in this region – Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Back to China Notes and News
