4.9 Million Ticket Requests for Beijing Olympic Games Thus Far
By the end of June 2007, organizers of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games have received a total of 4.9 million purchase requests for tickets to attend the much-anticipated international sports. The demand far exceeds the 2.7 million tickets allocated for retailing to general public at this stage. According to sources close to the organizing committee, lotteries would held to distribute tickets among those who have indicated interest in attending various Olympic events.
The most coveted tickets for the Beijing Olympic are those for the opening and concluding ceremony. Of the 60,000 tickets available for the opening ceremony, 60% are reserved for foreign organizations and individuals and 40% for Chinese public. Prices for these tickets range from 6,000 to 200 Chinese dollars (US$750-25). Back to China Notes and News
