Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: I'm a British-passport holder. If I don't need a visa for Hong Kong, do I need a visa for Kowloon which is part of Hong Kong but seperated from the island?

A: Hong Kong, now a Special Administrative Region of China, is consisted of three main parts - the Hong Kong island, Kowloon, and the New Territory. The laws of Hong Kong apply to all three parts.

However, If you intend to travel A little farther north from Kowloon through the New Territory and on to places like Shenzhen and Guangzhou (Canton), you do need visa as these are the cities of China proper.
