Q: What is the longest time for a us citizen to stay in china for bisiness or pleasure?

A: With a tourist visa (L visa) a U.S. citizen can stay in China for 3 or 6 months. Those who have family, relatives or real estate in China and those who were born in China can apply for multi-entry L visa that provides for 6 or 12 months' stays.

With a business visa (F visa), one can stay as long as 6 months. With additional bussiness documents indicating needs, one can apply for multi-entry F visa that is valid for 1 or 2 years.
