Q: I'm a US citizen travelling from the US to Shenzhen through Hong Kong. Do I need separate visas for Hong Kong and China? Can I take a bus from Hong Kong airport to Shenzhen?

A: U.S. citizens with valid passports can stay in Hong Kong for up to 90 days with no visa. They need visa for mainland China visits.

There are bus services between Hong Kong international airport and Shenzhen. The ride takes about one and half to two hours and costs about 120-180 Hong Kong dollars (US$15-20). Several companies operate various routes and travelers can find their counters in the arrival concourse. The operation hours are generally from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
