Q: My family and I are planning to visit Shanghai, China, and maybe Hong Kong. Do we need to get a visa for Shanghai? Where could we apply for a visa?

A: With the exceptions of specially exempted diplomats and officials, people need to have visas to travel in China. Puyat Avenue, Makati City; tel.: 0063-2-8482396. There is also a Consulate General in Cebu.

Citizens of Philippines can stay in Hong Kong without visa for up to 14 days.
