Q: I read there are one day trips on small boats on Shennong. How do I make arrangements? Are there any 1 night trips on the Yangtze?

A: The tour of Shennong Stream is usually conducted as part of a Three Gorges tour that is based in Yichang, Hubei Province. Normally a Yangtze cruise goes either from Chongqing to Yichang or from Yichang to Chongqing. One can, however, go from Yichang, visit just one gorge in the Yangtze and a few sites around (Minor Three Gorges and/or Shennong Stream, and then return to Yichang. One factor that should be considered in deciding on touring Shennong Stream and surrounding area is the effect of the Three Gorges reservoir. The lower section of the Three Gorges is affected more by the raised water-level in Yangtze than the upper sections of the Three Gorges.
