Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: Could you please advise on time, travel-distance, and the general availability of trains from Hong Kong to Guangzhou? What's the cost?

A: A dozen or so trains leave Hong Kong for Guangzhou everyday. The earliest train departs around 7 am and the latest sets off a littel after 7 pm. The ride is just short of two hours and covers approximately 170 kilometers (105 miles). The cost is roughly 180 Hong Kong dollars or 25 U.S. dollars.

The trains depart from the railway station in Kowloon and arrives in Guangzhou at Guangzhou Dong (Guangzhou East).
