Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I am staying in Shenzhen but I am attending the fair at Hong Kong . I need to find the cheapest most efficient and quickest method of transport between these places for making the trip 2 or 3 days consecutively. Suggestions?
| | A: Wonder if you meant the export fair in Guangzhou? If it is Hong Kong, there are trains that run between Kowloon (part of Hong Kong) and Luohu (entry point of China proper). The earliest train leaves Luohu at 5:30, and the last train return from Kowloon late in the evening. One way ride cost about HK$35 or so. There are also many buses that serve the two cities, from early morning to about 11:00 in the evening. CITS Hong Kong operates buses that transport people from various hotels in Hong Kong to various destinations in Shenzhen. There also coaches that travel between the Hong Kong airport and Shenzhen. You will go through border check on your way (visa). It would be easier, it seems, to stay in Hong Kong for the two or three days you have to be there if the difference in cost is not all that great.
There are also train and coach services between Shenzhen and Guangzhou, if that's what you're looking at.
