Q: How can I travel from Hongkong to Guangzhou by train ? My flight lands on 18:00 p.m. What time is the last train from Hongkong to Guangzhou? How much does it cost?
A: A dozen trains leave Hong Kong for Guangzhou every day. The earliest leaves around 7:00 in the morning and the latest leaves around 7:00 in the evening. If you land at 6:00 pm it's difficult for you to catch the last train of the day, it seems. The cost is HK$230 for premium class and HK$190 for standard class. Trains departs from Hung Hom station in Kowloon and arrives at Guangzhou East Station. There are coaches that go directly from Hong Kong airport to Guangzhou; the last bus leaves the airport around 8:00 in the evening. Verify the info before you make a decision. You need visa to enter China proper.
