Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I'm staying in Shenzhen and I'd like to travel in Guangzhou-Macau-Nanning-Hong Kong-Fuzhou-Guilin-Liuzhou. What's the distance between Shenzhen and all of the other cities and how can I travel to all of the cities? What would be the cost?
| | A: Shenzhen is close to Guangzhou, Hong Hong and Macau - all these cities are just one or two hours away, by bus, train or ferry, and the cost to move among them is not all that much. Fuzhou, Guilin, Nanning and Liuzhou, however, are some distance away and scatter in different directions. It will take some efforts to arrange the trips (trains and/or flights, hotels, local transportation). Whereas you can take care of it all by yourself if you really want to do it, it would be the best to leave it to some travel agency to put something together for you. For instance, if you want to travel by train, you need to think ahead about how to get tickets - they may prove to be hard to come by (soft berths, etc.). If you arrive in a city and then find out that you cannot get tickets, you may have to stay longer than you have planned, and that may actually cost you a lot more, not to mention taking more time than you've allocated.
Also, since you're in Shenzhen already, we assume you have visa for mainland China. Make sure that your home country is one of these countries the citizens of which can stay in Hong Kong for a certain period of time visa-free.
