There are Guilin-bound trains that depart from Shenzhen and Guangzhou; Shenzhen is 60 kilometers south of Dongguan, and Guangzhou is 90 kilometers north of Dongguan. A soft berth costs about 370 Chinese dollars. Ride time is approximately 15 hours. You can also take a bus, but it's a rather long long trip.
