Q: What is the best way to travel from Guanzhou to Yiwu? How much does a round trip airline ticket costs, and what are the flight schedules for the airlines like?

A: China Southern Airlines fly between Guangzhou and Yiwu. Flight from Guangzhou leaves at 17:00 and arrives in Yiwu at 18:30; return flight from Yiwu leaves at 19:10 and arrives in Guangzhou at 20:55. The round trip costs 1,600-2,000 yuan (US$200-300).

There are two trains that travel between Guangzhou and Yiwu. One leave Guangzhou about 15:00 and arrive in Yiwu the next day about 14:00. The other train leaves Guangzhou about 20:00 and arrives in Yiwu about 19:00 next day - so travel time is about 23 hours. On the way back the trains depart Yiwu approximately 14:00 and 19:30 respectively. The trains actually come from Ningbo and Nanjing and stop over in Yiwu before moving on, so one needs to about the availability of tickets at Yiwu station. One-way train ride (on a soft berth) between Guangzhou and Yiwu costs about 500 yuan.
