Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: Hi, I'll be travelling to Macau next month. I also want to visit Guilin and Beijing from Macau. Are there available buses and trains for the trip? How much is the fare and how frequent are the trips?

A: It is a bit too far to travel by bus to Guilin from Macau; it can be done, with a connection. It is definitely too far to travel from Macau to Beijing by bus. There are trains to Beijing from neighboring Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Fare is 700-900 yuan for a soft berth. To travel from Guangzhou to Guilin by train it would cost about 300-400 yuan. Trains run daily.
