Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: Canadian boy and girl are trying to find the cheapest and safest way south through China to Thailand. Which transportation and stop overs would be the best?
| | A: It would be easy to fly, but if you want to go by train, there is train connection between certain Chinese cities (Beijing, Nanning, among others en route) and Hanoi, Vietnam. The cost of Beijing-Hanoi train ride is over 1,000 yuan for a soft berth. The train departs from Beijing, makes stops at cities such as Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and reaches Nanning. From there the train goes to Hanoi. If you take this train, you of course have to plan your way from Vietnam to Thailand. There are flights (Thai Airways or Vietnam Airlines) and other means of transportation between Hanoi and Bangkok.
As noted, it would be easier to fly.
