Q: What means of transportation is available to get from Guangzhou to Ningbo and possibly to Macau?

A: You can fly from Guangzhou to Ningbo; flight time is about one hour and forty minutes. You can also travel by train. There is train that departs from Guangzhou and is headed to Ningbo. Ride time is about 28 hours. Costs about 550 for a soft berth - slightly cheaper than a one-way flight. There is also bus service between Guangzhou and Ningbo, but it's a long ride and not a very nice way to go.

There are flights from Ningbo to Guangzhou and Hong Kong, so to get to Macau you can get to these places or some other close destination first, and then move on to Macau. There are train service between Ningbo and Guangzhou, as noted above, and there is direct train service between Shanghai and Hong Kong are all a couple of hours away from Macau.
