Q: How far is it from Shenzhen to Badaling and what is the best method of travel?

A: Badaling, which commonly refers to the section of the Great Wall that is situated in the area, is 60 kilometers (40 miles) northwest of Beijing. The distance between Shenzhen and Beijing is 2,370 kilometers (1,480 miles). Badaling is closer to Beijing than other sections of the Great Wall in the Beijing region, such as Mutianyu or Simatai, and are frequented by more visitors, both from within China and abroad.

Normally tourists go to Badaling by coaches as there is an express highway that links Beijing to Badaling. From Shenzhen to Beijing one can either fly or tavel by train. It is a flight of about two hours; by train it is a ride of 23-19 hours, depending on which train you take.
