Q: Could you tell us about the shortest train ride from Nanning to Hong Kong and its cost?

A: There is no direct train link between Nanning and Hong Kong (given that Hong Kong is a Speicial Administrative District, almost a foreign country). If you must travel by train, you should take a train to get Guangzhou, and then travel either by train or by bus from Guangzhou to Hong Kong. It is relatively easy to get from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, a two-hour trip.

There are three trains that go from Nanning to Guangzhou, and ride time range from 11 hours 30 minutes to a little over 13 hours. Of the two faster trains, one leaves about 9:00 in the morning and arrive at night. The other one leave close to midnight and arrive around noon next day. The third, slower train leaves about 5:00 in the morning arrive in the evening. A soft berth costs about 300 yuan.
