Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I am considering flying into Pudong airport and connecting with a domestic flight from Honqiao airport. I believe that the two airports are at least 60 Km apart. What is the quickest way of travelling between the two?
| | A: The most convenient way to travel between Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is go by Airport Bus Line No. 1. Buses leave Pudong (Hongqiao too) every 15 minutes or so and operate from 7:20 am to 23 pm. Generally it takes about one hour to get from one airport to the other. With traffic jams, however, it may take longer, maybe two hours. Some people advise a four-hour gap between arrival at one airport and departure at the other.
You can also try a combination of Maglev train, metro and taxi, but obviously there is little advantage in this for someone who's new to the city and is making a connection. You may want to try out the super fast Maglev train later on when you're not in a hurry (ironic, isn't it).
