Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: What's the distance between Zhuhai and 1) Macau, and 2) Guangdong by bus or by train?
| | A: Zhuhai and Macau borders each other, separated by a border-check point (Gongbei). If you go by bus at the Macau International Airport, it takes about an hour for you to reach Gongbei border-check point. If you go by taxi, however, it takes just about 25 minutes. It takes anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes for you to go through the Gongbei border-check point, depending on the time of the day (closed after mid-night). After crossing the border, you're in Zhuhai.
Guangdong is a province. Zhuhai is a city of Guangdong province. You probably meant Guangzhou, which is the capital city of Guangdong Province. From Macau to Guangzhou it is approximately 150 km (100 miles). There are bus linking the two cities (some depart at the Macau airport, operated by China Travel Services); you'll still go through Gongbei border-check point. There are also bus services from Zhuhai to Guangzhou.
