Q: How much would it cost for a mini-van to take me from Guangzhou airport to Shantou?

A: Depending on the type of the vehicle you rent (for instance, China-made or foreign made), prices vary. Assuming that you're getting a vehicle along with a driver, you're roughly looking at about 500 yuan per day, with 150 kilos and 8 to 10 hours of service included. Four yuan or so for each additional kilo and 20 yuan or so for each additional hour. If your rental is one-way, you may have to pay 50% for the return distance. If you don't speak Chinese, you may also want to hire an interpreter/guide to go with you.

The distance between Guangzhou and Shantou is roughly 500 kilometers.
