Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: I intend to visit the following cities: Shenzhen, Guangdong, Ningbo & Zhejiang. Please give me a travel tip. Which Airport I should land. Also give me the distance between nearest Airports.

A: We gather that by "Guangdong" you mean "Guangzhou"? Guangong is a province in which the cities Shenzhen and Guangzhou are located. Guangzhou is the capital of Guangong Province. Shenzhen is about an hour and half southwest of Guangzhou and about an hour north of Hong Kong. To reach the region, you can either land at Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, which is about 40 km (24 miles) from central Shenzhen. If your international flight arrives in Hong Kong, you can take a coach to get to Shenzhen. Keep in mind, of course, whereas you do not need visa for a short stay in Hong Kong, you need visa to enter China proper. The airport for Guangzhou is Baiyun International Airport, which is located 28 km (17 miles) from central Guangzhou.

Ningbo is locate on the coast of East China, south of Shanghai. Flight time between Guangzhou and Ningbo is close to two hours. The airport for Ningbo is Lishe Airport. Zhejiang is the province in which Ningbo is located. The capital city of Zhejiang province is Hangzhou, which also a nice tour destination, known for the natural sceneries centered round the West Lake, a small lake located, well, west of Hangzhou. Land distance between Hangzhou and Ningbo is about 170 km (102 miles). Airport for Hangzhou is Xiaoshan International Airport. Direct distance between Ningbo and Shanghai is not far, but because the two cities are located the opposite sides of the mouth of the Yangtze River, it takes a few hours to travel between the two cities on land.
