Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: How far is Badaling, China to Macau or Shenzen?
| | A: Badaling is the name of a particular section of the Great Wall outside Beijing - 75 km northwest of the city center. It is a part of the defense system built to guard Beijing, and the name, Badaling, literally means "the moutnain that can be reached in all directions." So the distance between from Macau or Shenzhen to Badaling is roughly the distance from these two southern cities to Beijing - 2,500 km (1,500 miles).
Badaling is the section of the Great Wall most frequently visited by foreign tourists. Other parts of the Great Wall outside Beijing that are also often toured but not as much include Mutianyu and Simatai, which are a bit farther away from Beijing.
