Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: What is the mileage from Dalian, China to Beijing, China?

A: Dalian is located on the tip of Liaodong Peninsula. It is part of Liaoning Province, which in turn is part of the region used to be known as Mancuria. Distance by railway or highway between Dalian and Beijing is approximately 1,000 kilometers (600 miles). Because the city is located on the end of a peninsula, so to go to Beijing you first travel north to Shenyang, the provincial capital and then go south toward Beijing. If you travel by air, flight time is about one hour. Dalian is one of those Chinese cities that have seen some development in recent years, in terms of construction, etc., although not as much as one sees in Shanghai. It is a coast city, so it's kind of a nice place to live and visit.
