Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I am planning a trip from Qingdao to Changzhou and I'm wondering how far apart the two cities are and how long it would take to drive.
| | A: We assume that you're referring to Changzhou in Jiangsu Province, which is located south of Nanjing and north of Shanghai. Qingdao is located on the tip of Shandong peninsula. Depending on which route you follow, the distance between Changzhou and Qingdao is roughly 750 to 1,000 kilometers (450 to 600 miles). Suppose you drive on freeways, it takes about 8 hours to get from Qingdao to Changzhou. The short route is roughly along the coast. It will be sections of Beijing-Shanghai freeway, Nanjing-Lianyungang freeway, and Lianyungang-Yantai freeway.
If you go by train, the distance is 1,200 km or 720 miles, and travel time is about 14 hours.
