Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: I will travel from Macau to Zhuhai. Is the Gongbei custom open 24hours? I am only arriving in Macau at 11.30pm and will only be crossing the custom after midnight.

A: Gongbei border check point is open from 7:30 in the morning to midnight. If you arrive in Macau at 11:30, there is very little time for you to get through the border control and customs that night. A lot of people use Gongbei cross and very often there are large crowds at the check point. It takes about 15 minutes to get through the Macau side of the border control, but it may take 30 minutes and longer for one to get through the Chinese part of the gate.
