Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I am a Malaysian. Do I need visa to enter Hong Kong, Macau, or other part of China? And if yes or no, how long can I stay in Hong Kong or Macau or other cities of China? How about Taipei?
| | A: Malyasian citizens can stay in Hong Kong for up to 90 days visa free. They can stay in Macau for up to 30 days without visas. Visitors need to have visa to enter Mainland China. With a L visa, which is touring, vising family, etc., one can stay up to 30 days in mainland China. Double entry L visa is also available, with which a traveler can enter China twice. A F visa, which is for business, lecture, etc., also gives a visitor 30s, but there are multiple entry F visas, with which a traveler can enter China several times within half a year or a year. Malaysian citizens can stay in Taiwan for up to 30 days visa free, on the condition that the traveler has a valid passport (valid for at least six months after the entry date), has confirmed return air ticket or air ticket and visa for the next destination, and has no criminal record. Of course, Taiwan has it own border control system and its own consular offices, which are separate from those of mainland China.
