Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: I live in Athens, Greece. I want to travel to Hong Kong through London and return directly to Athens after a 2 week holiday. What route do you recommend?
| | A: So you have about 14 days in China or part of the trip will be in Britain. In any event, if this is your first trip to China, there are some obvious destinations. Cities and their surrounding: Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guilin, and Hong Kong. Beijing is a must. Shanghai for modern development. Xian for its past. Guilin for scenery on the Li River. They're building a reservoir there, but the Three Gorges Cruise is still popular. If you're into adventure in faraway places, then there are Tibet to consider and the ethnic Southwest China. Mount Huangshan is also well known for the remarkable peaks, pine trees and clouds. There are many other less obvious places to visit, but for the first visit, those mentioned above seem to appropriate. But of course given the time you have, you cannot do them all.
