Answer to One China Travel Question

Q: I will arrive late in Guangzhou airport ( time 23.15),from Yiwu. How can I go to my hotel?

A: The latest airport shuttle buses of various lines leave for Guangzhou at 21:00, 22:00 and 23:00 o'lock. If you arrive at the airport at 23:00, it seems too late for you to catch one of these shuttles to get to the city. There should be cabs serving the airport at the time. The distance between the new Baiyun Airport (there was an old one, also called Baiyuan) and the city center of Guangzhou is approximately 28 km. The cost should be no more than one hundred Chinese dollars. Taxi rates in Guangzhou are seven yuan for initial couple of kilometers and then 2.6 yuan per km thereafter. If the ride is long, say above 50 km, the customer is expected to pay a 50% surcharge to compensate the cab driver for the cab's likely empty return trip.
