Answer to One China Travel Question
|
| | Q: May i know all the requirements needed for passport authentication?
| | A: Chinese consulates authenticate documents such as Affidavit of Marital Status, Certificate of Employment, Statement, Personal Identification Certificate, Affidavit of Support, Trade Mark Registration, etc. Chinese consulates in the Untied States, for instance, would autheiticate documents notarized in various states. What do you mean by "authenticate passports"? If you're referring to Chinese passports, they're issued by Chinese authorities, they're official already. If it's a foreign passport, why would Chinese authorities authenticate it? If they are satisfied with the passport, they'll issue a visa, if not, there must be some reasons, but it's not a matter of authenticating the passport.
Are you asking about to make a determination as for whether the passport is real or fake so as to decide whether to issue a visa or not or whether to let a traveler into China? Consular officials and border control officers must have ways to tell, but that's not something on which there is a whole lot information.
If you're asking about documents you should have with you, in addition to your passport, when you apply for a visa to travel in China, check with the Chinese consulate that is closest to you.
