Q: I need to travel for 2 days to Zhengzhou on 29th & 30th in May 2007 from India and 2 days to Shanghai - 31st May and 1st June 2007. Please let me know the best direct flights available and the best fares.
A: There are no direct flights between India and Zhengzhou. You need to fly to one of major cities in China - Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, or Beijing, and then travel further. You can fly fom these cities to Zhengzhou. If for some reasons you want to travel to Zhengzhou by train, you can do so too – there are direct train links between those cities and Zhengzhou (with the exception of Hong Kong). Since you’re going to visit Shanghai too, you may want to fly from India to Shanghai first, move on to Zhengzhou, return to Shanghai, and depart for home there. Flight time between Shanghai and Zhengzhou is one hour and forty minutes. Train travel time from Shanghai to Zhengzhou ranges from eight to fifteen hours. Generally it is less expensive to travel by train than by plane; a sleeper on a train may cost about 30% less than a flight - it depends on the particular situation, fo course.
