A: Tickets for some trains in China can be purchased as many as ten days in advance of the departure date. You can purchase the tickets at the departing train station or ticket offices in the departing city. Tickets for some other trains, however, may be purchased just a few days in advance of the departure date. Also, some tickets may be hard to come by, especially during busy seasons or in the case of tickets for sleeping berths for long distance travel. For a foreign traveler on a tight schedule, the unpredictability could be a problem. For a little fee, some travel agencies and hotels can book train tickets for travelers. Train travel time between Shenzhen and Yiwu is approximately 15 hours. A sleeping berth is advised. One can also fly from Shenzhen to Yiwu. Flight time is about an hour and half. Flying is more expensive than traveling by train.
