Q: Can you please provide me with information on the bus from Hong Kong Airport to Shantou - timetable and the cost and how I can purchase the ticket?
A: We're not aware of buses directly from Hong Kong Airport to Shantou. There are buses that depart from the city. For further information, contact agencies such as Travel China Service in Hong Kong (http://www.ctshk.com/english/index.htm). (Metropark Hotel MongKok does not provide transportation service from Hong Kong to China.) Alternately, you can travel from Hong Kong Airport to Lo Wu, which is the border cross between Hong Kong and mainland China. Once you're in Shenzhen on the mainland China side, you'll find more buses that go to Shantou. The bus run from Hong Kong to Shantou last about five hours. There is train connection between Shenzhen and shantou too, and train travel time is about 8 hours. From Hong Kong, one can also fly to Shantou or travel by ferry.
