| | Q: I have flight to China on 7th October. Since I didn't notice about the China national day, 1-7th Ocotber, the China embassy in HCMC is off on these days. So I can't get the visa on time. Can you advise me if there's any way to get the to China? I have the flight transit in Hongkong on 7th of October. Is it possible if I can have China visa in HK? Many thanks.

Travelers can apply for China visa in Hong Kong. If, however, you're a citizen of Vietnam, you need first secure a visa to enter Hong Kong. If you're a citize of some other country, there is a chance that you can enter Hong Kong visa-free. Check here to see if you need a visa to enter Hong Kong.
In Hong Kong, you can apply for your China visa at the Hong Kong Office of the PRC Foreign Ministry. You can also apply through an office of China Travel Service, which has a semi-official status and works closely with the Chinese authorities in Hong Kong.
If you apply at the Hong Kong Office of the PRC Foreign Ministry, you can expect your China visa in one to four days (if you ask for the one-day rush-service, you need to show evidence that your plane or train ticket leaves on that day). In cases of emergencies, China may grant landing visas. Travelers need to have certain documents, such as telegrams from family members in distress, invitation letters from Chinese companies, etc. Don't know if this applies to you, so you need to think about this carefully.
