If you want to travel by train from Ningbo to Dalian, you need to make a connection. Suppose you travel first from Ningbo to Tianjin and then get on a train in Tianjin to go on to Dalian: the first leg of your trip is 1,700 km and the second leg of the trip is about 900 km. Definitely a long journey.
