G.A.P. Adventures
Over the years our company has changed. From a one-man show in a tiny office, to a team of close to two hundred staff working around the globe; and from a few trips in Ecuador, Belize and Peru, to hundreds of adventures and seven diverse trip styles, spanning the entire globe. It's safe to say we have come a long way. One thing that hasn't changed is our passion for getting behind the scenes, checking out the real world, and taking you with us. This sense for adventure, to seek out new experiences, is what drives us, and what keeps our clients coming back for more.
It's been a busy year! In 2004, our Antarctica program was so popular it necessitated the acquisition of our own vessel. With the purchase of the legendary expedition ship Explorer, G.A.P Adventures is able to venture even further off the beaten track, from pole to pole, and up the mighty Amazon. Sustainable and responsible travel remains a priority for G.A.P Adventures. Our own NGO, Planeterra, was developed last year to bolster our support of important community and development projects in the countries we visit.
2005 promises to bring with it a new round of exciting challenges. Our new website features all our new Explorer Expeditions, as well as some other special adventures. The executive members of G.A.P's management team will hit the road again, getting back to basics and leading their own exploratory adventures. And our sustainable tourism coordinator will be going back into the field, and bringing some of you with her, as she leads an adventure to raise money for Planeterra.
